The HBF 5 Star survey is designed to provide buyers with information about house builders,
to help guide their purchasing decision, and to encourage excellent levels of service to be
delivered by developers nationally.

HBF 5 Star builder status for the second year running. There were only 35 house builders in
the country to be awarded five stars this year. The results are confirmation of the hard work
and dedication made by all areas of our business to ensure we deliver the highest level of
service to our customers.”

The results were due to have been announced on Tuesday 31st March at an event in
London, which has now been postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis.
The customer satisfaction survey is a way of measuring the level of customer service that
house builders achieve. The scheme is an independently monitored survey of the people
who really matter to our industry, our customers. The survey is a self – completion census
completed by the purchasers of new build homes, which were carried out by the NHBC,
covering the 12 months from October 2018 to September 2019.
The HBF Star ratings are independent and based on results of the National New Homes
survey. The survey is operated by the NHBC and is entirely independent of any builder or builder group and is validated by Reading University.
