Westerman Homes, who have just finished developing the Larwood Park site in Kirkby in Ashfield, have raised £715.00 for the Mansfield & District Stroke Club.
The club is not a registered charity and relies on subsidies from its members, their families and people kindly leaving money in wills and donations.
W Westerman had decided to sell some furniture from the show homes and wanted a local group to benefit from this.
Robert Westerman, MD said “We are really pleased to have helped the Mansfield & District Stroke Club; this club is a lifeline to men & women of all ages who have not only suffered a stroke, but also for individuals who are caring for someone who has had a stroke too.”
The club has been running for 34 years, they meet each month, have games, quizzes and days out. They also arrange holidays, Christmas parties & carol services.
Betty Flintham, who has been on the committee for 10 years said “ Everyone is friends here, we like to have fun and think about the positives, not the negatives, though of course we do all help with one another’s problems. All current members of the group and new ones will benefit from this really kind and generous donation and we all thank W Westerman from the bottom of our hearts”
