After gaining the NHBC/HBF 5 Star Builder Award, in their first year of entering, Westerman are now gearing up for another big challenge!
Julie Whitehouse, Sales Manager at Westerman Homes, along with 4 colleagues are taking part in the ‘Hope Challenge’ for the wonderful charity Habitat for Humanity, in June.
Competing against a number of other businesses the Westerman team have to build a shelter which they will sleep in for two nights. In addition to this they will take part in various other mental and physical challenges over the weekend, along with a hike around the Hope Valley.
The winners of the challenge will go overseas to assist with building an allocated family in need a new home to live in. It will be a challenging weekend and the team need to raise at least 3k for the charity.
Here is where you might be able to help…
If there is anything you can give to assist the team with reaching their target, any amount would be really appreciated and welcomed.
One in five people across the world live in slums and substandard housing, locking them into a grinding cycle of poverty.
This lack of housing negatively affects their health and well-being, educational prospects, and ability to make a living. As an international charity fighting world poverty and homelessness in England and overseas, Habitat for Humanity’s vision is a world where everyone has a safe place to call home. They believe that a decent home helps to permanently break the cycle of poverty and allows families to achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance.
For every £1 you give, Habitat for Humanity spend:
90p on implementing our vision through our programmes (building and repairing homes, providing vital skills, responding to disasters, etc)
10p on raising the next £1 as well as governance and administrative costs
