Moving Home With Pets

Moving Home With Pets

Moving home can be a stressful process for us humans, but for some animals it can be particularly traumatic. Cats and dogs become very attached to their own territory and will need much care and attention when you move home. There are a number of simple things that you can do to make the process easier for your pets.

Before You Move…
Before you move make sure you have an identity tag made with your new name and address engraved on it so it’s ready on the day of your move. If your pet has a microchip be sure to update it.

On the Day Of Your Move…
Pets, just like humans, can get travel sick, so speak to your vet about medication which might help make their journey more comfortable.

After Your Move…
Don’t forget pets will need time to adjust to their new surroundings. Show them where their bed is, introduce them to new rooms, keep cats indoors for 24 hours and feed them before you let them out for the first time.
